AGS123-RK sighted. There was no end to this !
The
wait, the crowd, the constant watching… What was the point of all of
this anyway ? Sure, they was no pain, no hunger and the discussions were
engaging too. Disagreements never lasted. Peoples here are so nice ! So
comprehensive ! So… similar.
AGK53-BB was right, control is sometimes better than happiness.
So he pressed the button.

Masks of Nyarlathotep – The burnt house that wasn’t
London, St John’s wood – February the 19th, 1925
– “I made more tea”, said Martin.
Allen
and John started to rummage through their notes, looking for their
buried teacups. Since his visit to Sir Gavingan, Martin had trouble
concentrating or simply thinking straight, When he heard a knock on the
door, he went for it with the teapot still in his hands. What happened
with this interview ? He couldn’t remember. And why the headaches ?
It
was Sean at the door, returning from his home after a long and
eventless slumber. After an awkward moment where Shaun pointed the
teapot in inquiry, they went back to the salon. The other two had
finally managed to retrieve their teacups under the massive pile of
papers on the table, and martin began to pour the warm liquid. Sean
dropped himself heavily in Martin’s chair, and passed on the invitation.
And then the house vanished.
There was no sound, no
movement, no nothing. It simply wasn’t there anymore. They were now
sitting in the charred remains of what was a house a long time ago.
grasses and roots had begun to take over the site, every lasting piece
of wood was weathered and charred. Their belongings were intact, but
everything else that was originally in the house was now decayed, broken
or badly burnt.
They stood motionless for a while, shocked and
disturbed by the astonishing situation, and only regained their
composure when a sudden gust of wind threaten to disperse the piles of
their precious notes.

Excerpt from an ongoing run of Call of Cthulhu Campaign : The Masks of Nyarlathotep (custom arc)
As the unholy memories of
Silas flowed into his mind, James began to lose his sense of self. It
was as if all the underground ceremonies of the past few years were
happening at once, and each of them coming to their climax. They were
others in the soul receptacle, and he saw through their eyes. He was the
cultist, chanting forbidden abominations of ancient perverted cantrips.
He was Silas, raising his knife and controlling the guardians. He was
Mukunga, slowly raising the lid of the sacred well. And finally, he was
the victims, struggling to escape this crawling horror coming from the
depths of the well, the Chakota, the thousand-faced wormlike abomination
made from the faces of its victims !
This was the last vision of James Benneth before losing his sanity.
May his soul rest in peace, ‘tough is not, we now it.

Another insane spaceship project from the 60s : using nuclear warhead to propel a spaceship (fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Projet_O…)
Most
of the design of this spaceship is conceived to dampen the initial
shock of the explosion of several (read: Lot of) kiloton nuclear
warheads. I don’t joke, this is a feasible project!
Well it
would have several issue, like stockpiling several thousands of nuclear
warheads, diplomatic conundrums when trying o land on a foreign planet,
insane acceleration for crew quarters and oh… Fallouts. Lots of it.
Yikes!
To be fair, as a strictly interstellar spaceship, it would
work. Some issues, like the degradation of the dampening plate or the
acceleration bursts are surprisingly easy to resolve.

A theoretical spaceship imagined
in the 60s by Dr Bussard, this spaceship would travel the interstellar
void by capturing the sporadic hydrogen atoms through a miles-wide
electromagnetic net, then compress them enough to achieve fusion
reaction, thus sustaining power and gaining thrust without carrying
fuel. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bussard_…)
