The Man from Rock Bottom – by Stephen Eric Johnson

He’s isolated, on the edge, scared out of his mind, and humanity’s last hope. He’s the Man from Rock Bottom, an unassuming guy who really just wants to do his job as the last zookeeper in the last city on Earth. In spite of his wishes, when he walks out of his front door that morning in pursuit of breakfast, and some poor schmo goes splat on the pavement right in front of him, he knows that he’s about to have a very bad day.
From that bad beginning, the Man is soon pulled into a maelstrom of conspiracy, kidnapping, and murder. Before he knows it, he ends up descending into the monster-haunted labyrinth that lies below Rock Bottom (the place you go when there’s nowhere else), facing flesh-eating morlocks, savage super-pigs, and the Preacher Man, leader of the organization that will unwittingly end humanity’s last chance unless the Man from Rock Bottom can get there in time.
He’s the spoiler nobody saw coming.

L’Homme du Fin Fond – par Stephen Eric Johnson

Il est seul, au bord du gouffre, effrayé au delà de tout. Mais c’est le dernier espoir de l’humanité. L’Homme du Fin Fond est un homme sans prétention, qui veut simplement faire son travail en tant que dernier gardien de zoo dans la dernière ville de la Terre. Hélas, il lui suffit de sortir de chez lui prendre son petit déjeuner ce matin-là pour qu’un pauvre type s’écrase sur le trottoir juste devant lui. Il sait désormais qu’il est sur le point de passer une très mauvaise journée.
De ce mauvais départ, l’Homme est bientôt entraîné dans un maelström de conspirations, d’enlèvements et de meurtres. Avant même de s’en rendre compte, il finit par descendre dans le labyrinthe hanté de monstres qui se trouve sous Rock Bottom (l’endroit où l’on va quand il n’y a rien d’autre), affrontant des morlocks mangeurs de chair, des super-cochons sauvages et le Preacher Man, chef de l’organisation qui mettra involontairement fin à la dernière chance de l’humanité… à moins que l’Homme du Fin Fond ne puisse arriver à temps.
