  • Inktober 15 – Helmet

    Captain’s log supplemental.
There’s a helmet missiiing. Raaaven’s helmet. Yay! Good for me.
It’s good because there’s some tacky-tracky device in thooose. Now I just need to return to the auxiliary console and… wait.
    That sound.
    It’s the warp engine ohnonono!

    /* Krita + Yiynova */ [STORY START]

Journal de bord du Capitaine – Supplément.
Il maaanque un casque. Le caaasque de Raven. Youpi ! Parfait !

  • Inktober 13 – Roof

    – OK… I knew it would go over the roof sooner or later… but I would rather had later than sooner.

    /* Krita + Yiynova */ [STORY START]

    – OK… je savait que ca creverait le plafond tôt ou tard… Mais j’aurai préféré plus tard.

  • Inktober 12 – Stuck

    – What the .. oh shitshitshit
    – Stuck.
    – …comon dam’n door! open up!
    – Thanks
    – oh shitohshitohshit…
    – Thanks. This metallic protrusion. Needed. To fuse. to join. Antenna. Aetheric Medium
    – dafuckitstalkingabout? COME ON, OPEN UP!
    – Moving, now. Act, at last.
    – wha… Raven, is that you?

  • Inktober 09 – Pressure

    – See, captain? Right here.
    – I don’t get it, doc. Explain it to me.
    – This number here is officer Raven’s arterial pressure.
    – Ok.
    – And this number there is the max measurable pressure.
    – But… there’s the same.
    – Exactly. And this means Raven’s pressure is even higher.
    – Have you…
    – …checked the monitoring station? Yes. Twice.
    – What are the risks for Raven’s?
    – You don’t get it. With these numbers, he should be dead by now. We’re dealing with an ETI now.
    – Ok. This is bad. What do you suggest?
    – Broadcast a distress signal. We need a Psy officer on board, and quick.
    – On it. And… doc?
    – Yes?
    – Keep an eye on him.
    – …on it you mean.

    /* Krita + Yiynova */ [STORY START]

    – Vous voyez ce chiffre capitaine ?
    – Je ne comprends pas. Expliquez-moi.
    – Ce nombre indique la pression artérielle de l’officier Raven.
    – OK.
    – Et ce nombre là, c’est la pression maximum mesurable.
    – Mais…c’est les mêmes, non ?
    – Exactement. Ce qui signifie que sa pression artérielle est surement encore plus haute.
    – Est-ce que…
    – …j’ai vérifié le matériel ? Oui. Deux fois.
    – Quels sont les risques pour Raven ?
    – Vous ne comprenez pas. Il devrait déjà être mort. Nous avons maintenant affaire à une entité extérieure.
    – Ok, c’est la merde. Que suggérez-vous ?
    – Lancez un appel de détresse. Nous avons besoin d’un officier psy a bord, maintenant.
    – Je m’en charge. Et… doc ?
    – Oui ?
    – Veillez sur lui.
    – … sur ça plutôt.

  • Inktober 08 – Watch

    – Oh Raven… Sorry. I’m late.
*Captain Horacio! Glad to see you face. Or any face, for that matter*
    – There was turbulence after the incident. We had to jump. It was not easy but… here I am now.
*Ok that’s great and all but I must tell you…*
    – No answer, he? Dr Krisha told me you’ve been irresponsive.
*I’M TRYING to send you  and answer you dimwit!! Just stay still…*
    – But now I’m listening. As you teached me. I’ll keep watch for the time it takes.
*Whatever. Listen: Don’t touch my hand! Do you hear me? DONT. TOUCH. ME.*

    – I… I hear something. I think I can hear you !
    *YES !*

    – Your hand, you want me to hold your hand!
    *NOOOOO*

    /* Krita + Yiynova */ [STORY START]

    – Oh Raven… désolée du retard.
*Capitaine Horacio ! Tellement content de vous voir. De voir un visage, enfin !*

    – Y’a eu des turbulence après l’incident. On a du sauter. C’était pas facile… Mais bon, je suis là maintenant.
*Oui, bon. C’est super mais je dois vous prévenir que…*

    – Pas de réponse, hein. Le Dr. Krisha m’a dit que vous ne répondiez pas.
*Mais J’ESSAYE de vous répondre. Arrêtez juste de bouger un instant…
    *

*Peu importe. Ecoutez : Ne me touchez pas la main. Vous entendez ? NE. ME . TOUCHEZ. PAS*

    – Je… Je crois que j’entends quelque chose !
    *ENFIN*

    *NON!*

  • Inktober 04 – Knot

    – We should use straps, not ropes, captain.
    – Straps won’t do, we need the metallic restrains for this one.
    – er… aye captain. but, why?
    – Never put straps on angled surfaces. Are you really a docker?
    – I’m not. I’m this ships medic.
    – Ah.

    /* Krita + Yiynova */ [STORY START]

    – On devrait utiliser des sangles, pas des cordes capitaine.
    – Pas de sangle. Prends les filins métallique.
    – Euh… Ok capitaine. Mais pourquoi ?
    – Jamais de sangles sur des angles bruts. Où l’a tu eu ta licence de docker.
    – Parce que… Je suis le médecin de bord?
    – Ah.

  • Spaceship Synchronisation

Syncing to the ship is crucial before any sort of space travel.
How else can the pilot react to events incoming at the near speed of light? And how could a manchine adapt to the unforseen?
Symbiosis is required to benefits both ways,

    ***

  • Scattered Ruins

Deep in the Middle Mountains, inside the northest forests of the Empire, lies a very strange location where one can find curious ruins scattered among the pines.
Made from a curious stone stronger than steel and built in an unique architectural style unkonwn to every archeologists, this place is still a mystery among scholars. Some argues it was a religious temple of some kind, but nobody has ever lived among this far north. The whole location look like it was destroyed not so long ago, historicaly speaking. Here and then, some artifacts bearing the same undecypherable scripting are sold on the northen markets but so far, no one has been able to decypher it.
And franckly speaking, there’s better things to do than dwelling on the past.

    ***

  • Spaceship – Orion (takeoff)

Another insane spaceship project from the 60s : using nuclear warhead to propel a spaceship (fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Projet_O…)

    Most
of the design of this spaceship is conceived to dampen the initial
shock of the explosion of several (read: Lot of) kiloton nuclear
warheads. I don’t joke, this is a feasible project!

    Well it
would have several issue, like stockpiling several thousands of nuclear
warheads, diplomatic conundrums when trying o land on a foreign planet,
insane acceleration for crew quarters and oh… Fallouts. Lots of it.
    Yikes!

To be fair, as a strictly interstellar spaceship, it would
work. Some issues, like the degradation of the dampening plate or the
acceleration bursts are surprisingly easy to resolve.
